Watch This! TV/Movies you can watch this weekend!!

Wondering what to watch next? I have some great recommendations for you! Some of these are recommendations from podcast episodes and some I've watched during our hiatus. They range in streaming platforms and genres, so I think you'll find something you'll enjoy. You can also check out the other blog posts for previous recommendations.

Nope (In Theaters) Jordan Peele writes and directs this must see movie! Loved the performances by Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun (Yes, Glenn from The Walking Dead), and Brandon Perea. About two siblings who run a California horse ranch and discover a UFO/UAP. I appreciate that it’s a multi-genre film. It's science-fiction horror, with a side of western and comedy. Peele is brilliant and his movie making is incredible. “Spectacle” is a theme of this film. LOVED IT!

The Gray Man (Netflix) Great action thriller with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Rege-Jean Page. Gosling plays a CIA asset who uncovers secrets and is hunted down globally. Action Thriller. Really enjoyed this movie. Ryan Gosling is charming as ever and although I am fan of both Chris Evans and Rege-Jean Page, I was yelling at them from my couch. Haha. They played villainous roles here.

Black Bird (AppleTV+) SO good! True crime story. Taron Egerton plays Jimmy Keene serving a 10 yr prison sentence. To reduce that sentence, he is asked to elicit a confession from serial killer Larry Hall, played by Paul Walter Hause (Stingray in Cobra Kai!!), in an unsettling performance! Greg Kinnear, Ray Liotta also star. I can see Emmy Nominations for any of these performances.

Virgin River (Netflix) This is an easy-to-digest melodrama, A comforting series that I am binging through right now! A woman moves to a small town in northern California after losing her husband to start anew. Love triangles, drug dealing, murder in a small town, gossipy neighbors. May sound heavy but it's not. It also has great scenic shots! Although it's set in California, cinematic shots are from Vancouver. The river and trees are beautiful.
