I've watched a lot of movies this year and wanted to highlight some of the most thought-provoking, emotional, entertaining, action-packed, and fun films I've seen. Each one made a significant impact on me, and I highly recommend them.
The Iron Claw "Iron Claw" is an emotional rollercoaster that dives into the real-life story of the Von Erich brothers, a pro wrestling family in the '80s. The film, starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson, explores their journey through fame and tragedy under the shadow of their domineering father. The performances are Oscar-worthy, and the film's exploration of brotherhood, family loyalty, and the infamous "curse" that haunted them is both heart-wrenching and unforgettable. It's a must-watch for its emotional depth and stellar acting.
Civil War "Civil War" plunges you into an apocalyptic America, following a group of journalists on a perilous road trip to interview the president. The film is thought-provoking, highlighting the chaos and brutality of a divided nation. The imagery is both brutal and beautiful, making you question the desensitization to violence in our society. Kirsten Dunst delivers a captivating performance, and the film's unpredictability keeps you on edge. It's a chilling and engaging portrayal of a war-torn America.
Dune 2 "Dune: Part Two" is an epic continuation of Paul Atreides' journey, with stunning visuals and an incredible ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Austin Butler. The film is filled with masterful battle sequences and emotional depth, making it even more impressive than its predecessor. Director Denis Villeneuve has crafted a riveting, action-packed epic that delves deeper into the characters' relationships and struggles. This is a must-see for its breathtaking cinematography and compelling storytelling.
The Fall Guy "The Fall Guy" is a hilarious and action-packed film featuring the dynamic duo of Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and the movie is filled with fun, romance, and impressive action sequences. Gosling's charm and humor shine through, making it a delightful watch. The 80s nostalgia and entertaining plot make this film a standout, cementing Gosling and Blunt as a fantastic on-screen pair. Check out our podcast episode on this one! Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is a thought-provoking film that explores the complex relationship between humans and apes. The story follows Noa and his tribe, who have formed a unique alliance with eagles. The film raises questions about trust and survival, making you ponder the moral choices faced by both species. The gripping story and fascinating dynamics make it a worthy addition to the franchise. My husband and son really enjoyed this film too!
Furiosa "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga" delivers an epic action experience with stunning cinematography and powerful performances by Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy. The film explores Furiosa's backstory, detailing her struggles and resilience in a male-dominated, apocalyptic world. It's a thrilling ride that delves into themes of revenge, survival, and the strength of its female protagonist. Don't miss this adrenaline-fueled spectacle that enriches the Mad Max universe. This was number 2 on my husband's list.

I look forward to the rest of the films to come out this year!!!
