šŸŽ¬ 5 Underrated Shows to Binge Now — Before Everyone Else Catches On

If you’re like me, you’re always on the hunt for the next show that pulls you in emotionally, surprises you with layered characters, or just makes you say, ā€œWait… why isn’t everyone talking about this?ā€

šŸ’”Heads-up:Ā I’ve pulled together five of my favorite underrated series, from gritty crime dramas to slow-burn sci-fi, but I’m featuring just twoĀ of them here. You can grab the full list (with all five recs) in my free downloadable guide on Ko-fi! No strings!!

This guide is a little nostalgic for me — I used to run to the mailbox to grab the latest TV GuideĀ as a kid. Now? You can just head to my blog (or Ko-fi!) to find out what’s worth watching. Same thrill, less paper. šŸ˜‰

šŸæ 1. DusterĀ (Max)

One of the coolest shows I’ve watched this summer!! DusterĀ is set in 1972 Phoenix and brings all the gritty, stylish crime drama energy with a deep emotional pull. The vibes? Immaculate. Groovy music, vintage cars, bold outfits—it’s a full 70s throwback that feels alive.

But what really makes it shine? Josh Holloway leads as Jim, a smooth-talking getaway driver with a complicated past. Enter Rachel Hilson’s Nina Hayes, a bold, ambitious FBI agent who persuades him to become her informant. At first, there’s zero trust between them, but as the stakes rise, they’re forced to rely on each other in unexpected ways.

Their dynamic is tense, gritty, and full of shifting loyalties. Nina’s scenes with her partner, Agent Awan, also bring quiet power and nuance that make the story hit even harder.

Throw in family secrets, deep character moments, and a scene-stealing supporting cast and you've got something seriously special. Sadly, it was canceled after one season, but it’s still absolutelyĀ worth the binge.

šŸ‘½ 2. InvasionĀ (Apple TV+)

This show takes its time — and that’s what makes it stand out. InvasionĀ tells a global alien invasion story, but through deeply human, emotional perspectives. Instead of nonstop action, it leans into connection, fear, and what people cling to when everything falls apart.

It’s a slow burn, yes. But it’s rich in character arcs and visual beauty. Plus, Season 3 lands in August 2025 — so now’s your chance to catch up and be ready before everyone else is talking about it.
