Looking for your next binge-worthy show or movie? I've been diving into some amazing picks lately, and I’m here to share my recommendations with no big spoilers! From the mind-bending brilliance of Severance to the intense drama of Squid Game and beyond, there’s something for everyone. Let’s get into it!

Severance (Season 2 Premiere - Apple TV+)

Visually captivating, brilliantly acted, and completely unexpected!

Adam Scott truly shines as Mark, skillfully navigating the complex web of lies and truths that unfold around him. One of the most striking moments for me was Mark running through the maze-like halls. The stark, disorienting visuals perfectly capture the tension and surreal atmosphere of the show.

And then there's the intriguing revelation tied to Mark’s wife—what does it mean? This mystery alone will keep you hooked. Trust me, you’ll be scratching your head!

This show is truly unlike anything else out there—brilliantly written, directed, and acted. If you haven’t started Severance yet, now’s the time to dive in!

Squid Game (Season 1 & 2 - Netflix)

Gratuitous violence and wild twists, but surprisingly heartfelt in the end.

I’ve been catching up on Squid Game and just finished Seasons 1 and 2. Initially, I wasn’t a fan of the over-the-top violence, but now I’ve flipped my perspective. The series has these surprising moments of heart and humanity that draw you in, especially with Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae). His journey is what sold me. He brings hope, resilience, and a desire to fight back against the horrors of the game. Without giving away spoilers, I’ll just say that he’s a character you can’t help but root for, even in the darkest moments. Now that I’m caught up, I’m ready for Season 3!

Silo (Season 2 Finale - Apple TV+)

Slow start, but a mind-blowing finish!

Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette Nichols delivers a powerful performance, and while parts of this season started slow, the payoff was worth it. Without giving too much away, the finale brought back the energy and twists I loved in Season 1.

The last few episodes revealed some shocking truths and opened up the world of the silos in a way I didn’t expect. There’s a coda that rewinds time and raises even bigger questions for the future of this universe. If you haven’t started Silo, now’s the perfect time to catch up!

Unstoppable (Prime Video)

Heartwarming and inspiring, but not groundbreaking.

Based on a true story, Unstoppable tells the tale of a wrestler with one leg defying all odds. While it wasn’t my favorite watch of the week, it was definitely inspiring. One standout moment is watching the young man climb rocky terrain on crutches, only to fall and get back up with his team cheering him on.

Jennifer Lopez stars as his mom, and while her storyline features some heavier moments (like an abusive relationship), the movie ultimately delivers a heartwarming and motivational message. I’d recommend this movie to families—just maybe not with younger kids.

Final Thoughts

Of everything I watched this week, Severance stands out as my favorite. It’s fresh, ambitious, and just so brilliantly executed! But all these shows and movies brought something unique to the table—whether it’s the mind-bending twists of Silo, the heart of Squid Game, or the inspirational story of Unstoppable.

Next on my list is The Night Agent (Netflix, Season 2), and I can’t wait to dive in. Have you watched any of these? Let me know what you think—I’d love to hear your recommendations too!

Happy watching!
